Franchise Success Study

Success

I have always been attracted to the concept of success.  My measuring stick for my own success has changed and shifted throughout my life, yet my interest on the subject has never diminished; on the contrary, the older I get and the more successful I feel and the greater my curiosity about how others define and seek success.

I am a firm believer in what Shunryu  Suzuki says in his book Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind: “In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert’s there are few.”  So, embracing a beginner’s mind, I decided to find out how franchisors founders and CEOs define Franchise Success simply by asking them. I want to learn from others without my own pre-conceptions or opinions that can get in the way. My only agenda one of learning and sharing what I learn. I am thus conducting weekly interviews for the next 52 weeks on this topic and eventually what I find will hopefully make it into a book, but first they will be posted in this blog.

This interview series has nothing to do with “Best Practices.” Instead, they focus on discovering the many ways people define franchise success, what drives them to seek it and to take the path of franchising to realize their dreams.

This is an exciting project and I hope you join me in learning what I am about to discover.
